The only place I could find them at this size was Redland Nursery in Homestead, FL. They have a field full of these beauties! The trees were very heavy to install, as the soil it grew in down there was clay like.

Been a bit since I last updated with pictures, but here are a couple. Been working on irrigation for the field and starting the process of ordering/building a cold frame. 

The Syagrus sancona looks interesting.  Up in the Colombian mountains, it seems.  Also the Butias.  For a very long time, all the pindos in the Southeast seemed almost identical, while in Brazil, Paraguay, Uruguay, and Argentina there seem to be lots of possibly better plants.  Sabal minor still seems badly neglected for landscaping, though happy ones tend to be a bit big for today's mini yards.   

Bamboos can be pretty charismatic.  Clumps with fairly open stems light up nicely at night.

Love the pic with your dogs =) Mine never wants to stay for a pic haha. That is a B.Alfie correct? If so I'm soooooo jealous 

Pups hanging out while my wife and I pot up 500 Alfredii.

Thanks!! I somehow was  able to get them to stay on first try and yes, that is an Alfredii.

Everything taking shape and looking forward to a lot of growth this season.

Looking great!  I see from previous posts you were working on Textilis, Oldhamii and Chungii.  What other bamboo have you planned?  I recently planted Bambusa Chungii, Eutuldoides Viridi-Vittata (Asian Lemon), Guangxiensis (Chinese Dwarf), Lako, Maligensis (Seabreeze), Tuldoides "Swollen Internode," Vulgaris Wamin (regular and striata), and Dendrocalamus Hamiltonii, Latiflorus, Maroochy, Maximuslamina and Minor Amoenus (Ghost), and Gigantochloa "Bali White Stripe."  There's at least 20 more types that would grow well in the Central Florida area.

Some update pictures and new plantings, including Sabal Lisa, Kentiopsis Oliviformis and Foxy Lady. Bambusa Oldhamii is shooting some nice sized culms this year!

First time I’ve seen this thread.  Fantastic progress!  I went to school at Stetson so your thread brought back some great memories.  I’m betting the blind pig is still there

Hey, our nursery is on the south end of DeLand. And you bet the Blind pig is still there! I appreciate your kind remarks.
