I'm with you, other than occasional old Washingtonia boots that somehow end up in our back yard, never seen any palms on this side of town snap during wind events here.  There is footage of damage from another date palm that uprooted and fell on top of several cars in that part of town during another storm back at the start of July.

Other than a face full of dust, and sprinkles, last night's storms basically skipped over Chandler. Thinking we got 0.04" by 11:30pm last night.  Wasn't even enough to wet down the soil.
