I have seen 2 of these lining the streets hereabouts and would like to know what they are.

They closely resemble  dypsis lutescens  to my way of seeing, but with a nicer conformity to the palm fronds and thinner stalks.

Chamaedorea seifrizii possibly. If not seifrizii, it appears to be Chamaedorea of some sort.

Richard, cataractum does not form any upward growing trunks. The leaves are similar to this one though.
