Mike, This is a wild stab having never seen a pic of a small one but since you like it so much and I don't see any armour I'll guess Pritchardiopsis J. And if it is where did you get it  ??? .

Ok, maybe this is off the wall.... but to me it looks like either a young Washy or a livistona chinensis

The lack of spines on the leaf's petiole excludes a lot of things--Livistona, Washingtonia, Copernicia.  Don't know what it is, but it's a very nice palmate (not costapalmate) leaf.

In the second photo there is a small segment of upturned leaf and it looks like the underside is white.  Could be a illusion I guess, but if it is white that definitely narrows down the choices...

Could it be a Cryosophila?  Not sure of the species but it's not warscewiczii if it is a Cryosophila.

If it doesn't have a heel, I like your choice. If it does, I like mine.  :D

Bill,

I like your guess too...it's just the brown streaks on the petiole that are throwing me off.  I'm pretty sure my mauritiiformis doesn't have this.  But my Crysophila warscewiczii has more "fuzzy stuff" on the petioles.
