I love seeing these! They are Medjool Date Palms, basic but always fun to grow from seed!

    Phoenix are great to grow from seed because it is soooo easy and very rewarding . I do mine in pure water till they get a nice root pop Out and then put them and soil and watch them go. Did a bunch of double triples and quad canary’s couple years back for fun and they are doing great couple feet tall and already have spines !

    Steve, I figured as much!  :)  No worries though, all 6 babies are now safely potted up.  Oddly 2 of them had a good sized first leaf and hardly any roots while the other 4 had very vigorous roots.  Phoenix are great to grow from seed!  Now we'll see if I have any room left in the garden for them to plant out in a couple of years...
