I wrote back in May 2017 about my Royals and, thanks to everyone’s input, I added more drip and they are now all doing well. Thank you all!!!

Watering remains my main issue with all our lovely new palms. So I’m looking at getting a moisture meter, but I need one that comes with some kind of list or chart of the moisture requirements for specific palm species. Does anyone out there have a recommendation?

Add. Info:
•    Our soil is a sandy/clay/loam, but drains very nicely.
•    We use drip irrigation for all beds.
•    We are fertilizing with a palm fertilizer every three months.
•    Most of our palms are planted in beds that are then covered with fabric and landscape rock. Beautiful, easy maintenance, but makes it difficult to “feel” the soil for moisture, hence the probe.
•    All our other non-palm plants seem very content. Of course, with our other plants, it is easy to ascertain if they need more water because their leaves droop a tad.
