Areca palm trunk count questions

Featured Replies

Hey guys. I hear areca palm is a multi trunking palm. So if I have one seed I will eventually get a nice clump? Should I combine multiple seeds together ? These palms will be cared for in pots

thanks so much. I ask because I have 3 separate germinated seeds

You may eventually get a nice clump (well, three, actually...), yes.

One clump is one plant that comes from one seed.

I wouldn't combine multiple seeds together (put them in the same pot), though.

They do and look much better if grown separately and allowed to cluster naturally. If forced to grow together by tossing multiple seeds into a pot, they will compete until a few choke the others out.
