I have a total of seven chamaerops humilis var. cerifera in the garden and here they all are. This palm is one of the hardiest palms out there.  All pictures were taken this week.

Big Daddy is 8' tall planted as small 5 gal back in 2005.  I wish I could trim up the trunk but nearly impossible with all the leaves and thorns in the way. The last one is growing in to much shade and will be moved pretty soon. More on that one later.

Thanks for looking!  :D

I got a small cerifera a couple of years ago and the main center died off. The smaller off-sets are doing fine.

I assume you guys got some good heat this past week too? Cheers, Barrie.

Yes, indeed this palm goes in pretty much any type of garden style...Desert, Tropical, Mediterranean. Love the color of the leaves.

Barrie that's too bad.  :crying:  Sorry to hear about the palm damage, hopefully, it will recover soon.

Yes, four weeks still no rain and looking pretty darn dry for the whole month of May and temperature have been above average for the most part.  Think the highest temp last week was 87F/30.5C. Someone told me we're supposed to have an early summer starting in June. After a wet winter, we deserved it, Cheers!

Very nice! Mine is recovering from pure potting soil well, and I think even put off seeds. But looks kinda rough and even had a few spears pull. But all have recovered it seems. Will try to snap a pic as Im pretty sure it put off seed and even a nice bright blue frond! As always your garden is making me jealous in a good way lol.

Thanks your garden will get there in no time once things take hold there's no going back, lol!  :D I'll try and do another photo update in September to see the difference.

I sure hope so, although I am a zone pusher. Have been building a backbone as of late and will be purchasing a good mess of yuccas and needles for that very purpose. Honestly I doubt my winters could defoliate a trachycarpus (my frond damage was from the baking inside the protection during a warm day in january) but we will see. Every winter is a learning lesson and i will adapt and overcome!

I do enjoy all the shots of your wonderful garden as it is a wonderful little paradise! Oh and here is my inflorescence on my cerifera despite having spear pulled almost every trunk (due to crappy potting soil!). Thankfully some tlc, and fish fertilizer and sea kelp, has brought every trunk back!

When @TexasColdHardyPalms sold it to me it was a beautiful silver and in ground its turning blue! I couldnt be happier as I very much prefer the blue! Just glad I was able to get it out of the funk.

Here is the transplanting I did over the weekend with the shady grown Chamaerops. I transplanted to the west side of the garden for more sunlight. Photos are before and after. Thanks for looking and have a great weekend.  :D
