If it's in the 60s and cloudy here on the coast, you know it's a 100F in Palm Springs.

I think folks living on hills 15-20 miles inland might have the best all-around climate here. I know 7 miles inland, I dodge half the overcast days those right on the coast get.

I agree that inland & upland a bit, the warmth provides ideal growth compared to the immediate coastline.  But as the ocean temps warm the bayside areas have incredibly short thermometers; comfortable day and night  :P

Happ - Nice pictures!!! It's been steadily getting warmer, I know the temperature dial is going to be turned up soon. I wish there was a way to keep the interior of the house cooler.

I live in the San Fernando valley, about 15 miles or so from the coast.  It's not unusual for me to leave my house at 95-100d F, drive 20 minutes  to the coast where it is overcast and in the hi 60's, lo 70's.  Quite a contrast for a 20 minute drive.
