This Archontophoenix cunninghamiana at a friends house was all dressed up for Halloween, so I couldn't resist taking a photo of it.  Nothing to scary climbing up it, not like a strangler fig or anything, but attractive all the same.  Have you seen any palms dressed up for Halloween or Day of the Dead?

Ando, you need to mount something on that trunk or call up your buddy Josh and have him take a chainsaw to it!  Carve it, dig it, or decorate it.  Definitely scary!!!

Well, if it was mine it wouldn't be lopped off in the first place. :)

This is the infamous Palm Desert Coconut, the largest California coconut that ever lived, fruiting as well, which met its fate after the house was put on sale and the new owners didn't know what they had. You can read about all that drama here. Picture courtesy of Danilopez89.
