Kinda hooked on this little gem since putting a few seedlings in a few years back and am looking for more pics of adult sized specimens if anyone has them growing in their garden???

This is the largest and best looking A. hookeriana I have ever seen in person and documented from other pictures.   Perfectly grown at Bill Austin's garden in Hawaii.  He has the trick.  Yes, it is amazing!

I had a larger seedling specimen, but I killed it a few winters ago :crying: Is this a tricky plant?

Naples (inland), FL - technically 10a but more like 9b in the winter :hmm:

I've seen Bill's monster, mainly in full sun. I share a photo of mine, also in full sun (cloudy, always humid east Hawaii version) on the crest of a hill. Seeds from Rarepalmseeds in January 2008, planted out in August 2013, 5-gal orange bucket for scale. Seemed less than happy in the sun for the first year or so, but has really started growing in the last few months.

My plant is doing fine here in South Florida. The only shade is from Gaussia maya and a few pines. This clump has been in the ground for 5+ years.

I saw them Saturday when my wife and I were down to grab a few more from you Mike. Thanks for the mini-tour...again! For the forum members that don't know, Mike has an incredible nursery, has a wealth of knowledge on palms of all kinds, and is a pleasure to do business with. Keep him on your list when palm shopping.
