Cool palms, a bit diminutive size wise, but good scale, robust growers, and lots of color. Some, not all, sparsely sucker which is nice for filling in open spots without having to thin out thick clumps. This grove is a combo of entire and pinnate forms and both are tidy, self cleaning, and straight as arrows. Most were planted from 1 gal. about 6-7 years ago. Of course, the shovel is for scale.

Tim,

Thank you for sharing this one - it looks really nice!

The trunk, its color and the leaflets have a nice shape, too!

That one goes definitely on my list,

best regards

Very nice palms. .. What about the yellow bamboo? Is it a philostachys?

Really good looking palms. I really like the entire leaf form. I have tried to germinate seeds from these several times.

El Oasis - beach garden, distinct wet/dry season ,year round 20-38c

Las Heliconias - jungle garden ,800m elevation,150+ inches rainfall, year round 15-28c

Mahalo for the comments!

Cindy, I would have thought you already had about a dozen of these. They would do well in your climate.

Jim, the color is nice and the younger parts of the trunk have a speckled ivory color.

Jason, so stoked that you'll be my neighbor soon. PRA's coming your way.

Lars, these grow surprisingly fast and can create a nice low canopy for the ankle biter palms.

Jeff, it's 'Sacred Bali', I have no idea what the botanical name is. Now, if it were a palm........

Scott, I've never tried to germinate any of the seed as these have good availability here. Like I said above, these are fast growers and buying them as 1 gallons saves a few years time wise.
