This morning I noticed the astonishing number of palm themed stuff all at once on my table, some courtesy of a recent trip to the states which always allows for a thrift store stop.

There was also some non palm stuff like the rest of the mail which I removed for the photo, but took the shot before I added my palm motif breakfast dishes!

The Tranquility sign and the placemats (substituting for my other two sets of palm placemats) are the new items. And yes I really had gone to bed with the 2014 Fairchild Garden magazine open to an article on the IPS and the other well worn palm book to serve as breakfast reading. No paper delivery here.

Yes, the pillow has palms and the not yet hung pictures in the background are chock full too.

Is your kitchen table view more palmified or I the only one?

Cindy it would be impossible for my dining table to be any more 'palmified" as it is made from Royal palm wood.

very cool Cindy. I have some palm-themed things in my house. I'll try to take a couple of photos soon to post. I've got a large phoenix canariensis frond, and a dried syagrus flower spathe & sheath as decoration.

Looks very tranquil indeed Cindy, blue also makes the room feel cooler.   I have a palm painting in the bathroom but thats about it.

Here's the Phoenix leaf Cindy. We like to bring in natural elements to use as decorations, so we have pieces of wood, bamboo, etc. If you want to know the inspiration behind the elephant painting I can send you it - it's by a local artist and friend.

And here's the syagrus sheath and spathe up at the top of the shelving. This is our coffee and tea area.

Actually it was two old very tall Royals that were struck by lightning .

We have apoctalyptic electrical storms and very often tall palms get hit.

Cindy, that Tranquility sign will serve you well! ^_^  My places are palmy on the outside, not so much on the inside. I purposely avoid literal references to palms, the beach, and seashells to avoid what could easily become too much kitsch at my place. My need is for an indoor serenity to complement the gardens outside, but I truly enjoy seeing the palm themes in other homes.

EDIT: Well, on second thought, I do have palm books and palm magazines all over the house... ... and little mementos and art from palmy places I have visited, so I can't claim my indoors as a palm-free zone.

Cindy, your nuts about palms like most of us die hards. And I wouldn't trade it for nothing. The inside of my house as you can guess is full of palm books, photos and paintings, wood carvings from trips all over the world and then the famous Double Coconut displayed on my coffee table for all guess to see. Hmmmm, wonder who helped get this into my hands? Cindy did!!! And many thanks again!

Yes, you are not indoor palm motif free either, just more restrained, Kim. Sounds lots classier than my cacophony, but then my farm outside is like that too!

I love it Peter! I think I could choose to dress many days in a row always wearing something with at least a palm leaf. And I often do!

I have seen the inside of your lovely house once after one of your sales and yes it was easy to guess what trees you love best. The carvings are truly unique but yes, before you were lacking that impressive double coconut seed!

One day I do hope all of us who are lucky enough to have the right climate can get a few live Lodoiceas! I would be glad to make a return trip to the Seychelles too.

I love to find quality decor of the things I'm passionate about! I've got tons of chicken decor (once people find out you have chickens, that's all you get as gifts lol), macaws, monstera, and palms! I adore the 'Tranquility' sign! Where did you find that goodie, @Cindy Adair? I always say my home is my sanctuary, so I'd love to find one for myself!

Love those placemats as well!!

My place has a few palmy decor items, but, like Kim's it's the garden outside that's the focus.

There's a view of palms out every window and door.

Thanks. The quality of some of my items is debatable, but I get my money's worth. I have some really nice antique furniture that I inherited and treasure, but intermixed with things that only palm lovers might think worth even the small amounts I pay. The hunt is part of the fun for me.

Those were both from thrift stores in VA Bch VA on a recent visit. I did not wish to make that trip to Va, but made time to pop into some favorite haunts while there.

I believe the set of 5 placements set me back a total of $2.98 and the Tranqulity sign was $1 both for good cause charities.

I just looked at the items and no indication on either as to the brand or store. So sorry! If you ever get to VA Beach I can head you to the best stores though or you could search generically online and they or classier items might pop up.

Much classier.

I am working on making that true, if nature can leave my driveway alone for awhile at least!

Thank you for your reply Cindy! I'm in South Florida, so perhaps I need to start making time to check out the thrift shops!! I bet I would be able to find some great palm swag as well! :yay:
