This Delonix regia is growing up in town. I took this photo back in 2010. I have a D. regia I've been growing for at least 15 years. It's close to 30 feet high now -- and has never, ever bloomed! I have a jacaranda tree even older, about 20 years. It's never bloomed, other than three years ago it produces just a small clump of blooms on one limb. I have various other flower blooming trees, some rarely bloom, maybe ever few years or so. I have no idea why.

Gary,

Hows your Colvillea.. Any flowers yet?

My covillea is enormous and beautiful. It flowered last year but not until November. We had a cold snap and the flowers aborted. Hoping the bloom cycle starts a little earlier this year.

This tree is spitting fire in La Habra CA. I have a home in Yucatán and rarely do I see this kind of display with the millions of flamboyant in the peninsula. In contrast, he is my neighbors flamboyant in Yucatán.

:greenthumb::greenthumb:  That Majesty in the background adds a nice touch too. Curious if you have ever noticed seed pod formation on it ( The Royal Poinciana )
