Here is a young Caryota zebrina growing at Leu Gardens in Orlando, FL. It is growing under high tree canopy so it gets bright shade all day. This is a slow growing Fishtail Palm. It is also more demanding. It doesn't like dryness and is very cold sensitive. We had a couple planted out and they died after the 2009-10 winter. Its the most cold sensitive Caryota I have grown (along with Caryota sp. "Elvis"). This one was planted in 2013 and is about 4ft tall.

Very Nice. I'm going to try and get over there to check out the amazing collection you have going on in Central Florida.

Of course I noticed that when touring the gardens this February. If I remember right I left my wife standing on the trail dumbfounded as to where I ran off to.

Beautiful gardens!
