Hello

Here's these two palms near each other right in the back corner of my place. The neighbours have removed a mango tree and grapefruit tree so now the winter sun will shine upon them. They've gone okay and should improve really.

after a quick old leaf clean up, interesting shades of green.

Now ya'll just leave Wal alone!  At least he is color - or is that "colour" - co-ordinated!  And not wearing stripes and plaids!  Believe me , those of us in south Florida appreciate these little things!  Have you seen the pink and green plaid golf pants???

Wal,

The palms look great!  How much sun is your Syagrus getting?  We grow them in both sun and shade and see a very different growth pattern.  The ones in the shade grow taller and the ones in the sun grow stockier.  This is one of my favorites.

And so are the Gaussia mayas.  I love them and have a small grove in the foltered light underneath the pines.

Good work!

Hi Kitty,

This is a new time for these palms owing to the removal of shade from neighbours trees about a month ago. So, from now on they will get full winter sun and a fair amount of summer sun whereas before just shaded summer sun. I'll have to wait and see. They are down the road as established  palms now which is primary to continued palm growth in my experience. Over the hump of juvenile life. Puberty blues etc.

Thanks for your comments.
