self sown Corypha umbraculifera

Traditionally one part of the village's name is (in sinhalese) something like: "Talipot garden". 
I remember I have seen, years ago, a huge tree flowering- fruiting - diing.

in the last two years we can see young Corypha seedlings appearing :

You're welcome in Doranakanda gardens, Corypha, Caryota urens, Areca catechu and Areca concinna are our weeds. 

Bring a Lodoicea seedling, you'll be allowed to take some self sown of our weeds (lol)

This is the result of a local Corypha umbraculifera that seeded a while ago............... Palm grass !!!............. These seedlings get mowed down like grass.

A big old palm fruited at that location and just dropped seed around its base which was shaded and bare from the palm......... The old palm was removed, sunlight got in and hey presto...... A palm seedling lawn :D
