The lows and the highs are finally starting to rise in temperature as spring approaches! Today it was 81 degrees F and was sunny, a few of my (non palm) plants are starting to come up. Now the lowest lows are in the high 20s and low 30s. How is your weather?

Isn't it always uplifting to see the weather patterns start to change? I didn't realize how far into "spring" we were until I spent the day yesterday trimming and cleaning up the yard. My fruit trees (peach/plum/nectarines/apples/pears) are all leafing out. I trimmed my two bouganvilleas down before they swallowed up my house, and noticed they were all exploding with new growth at every leaf node. My palms are opening spears that have been closed all winter. I think unlike the east coast where you can get really cold weather, followed by 80 degree days, we on the west coast tend to have prolonged cooling periods and when it warms up, there's usually no going back to cold temperatures. We don't get those crazy swings you guys do. I don't think we've had any days above 70 degrees since about November - at least in most of interior Northern CA.
