And so it ends again!

Well...best laid plans don't always work out, and due to other circumstances I have had to sell up and it's now time to move on again...let's see where I end up!  The garden will be exactly 4 years old this Christmas,

I'll add a few photos over the coming days which will be the finished project for me, and who knows how the garden will morph over the coming years. Hopefully the new owners will continue the theme and  not change it too much...but it's not really my place to tell them what to do LOL.

A young Bizzie one day will make a bold statement in the street (I hope)

Parajubaea torallyi and Beccariophoenix alfredii seem to be enjoying the growing conditions here, even if we have had a few dry years.

Wow that 4 years sure has gone quick. All the best with where you end up. Are you planning on digging and potting any of them?

I'm not sure yet Ty....I would love to move north but work is a factor. Plus I have my kids and friends here on the GC....however, real estate is crazy here and I think my chances of buying into this market by myself are pretty slim, unfortunately.

I hope you find something suitable that ticks all the boxes and gives you the ability to continue gardening the way you want.

Hi Neil, I took  a couple of cherished ones but had to leave most behind...just no room in my small duplex....so only small potted plants for the time being. The 215 had to stay behind unfortunately...that was hard!

 

Hi Ty, well, who knows what the future holds for me eh! It is all good though.

Recently had a chance to drive past the old place and check it out. Fortunately the new owner was standing out the front and recognized me, so invited me for a quick walkaround (I only had 15 mins free)

Mid winter here, and everything was looking pretty good. The new owner is doing a good job!

Looking over towards the Beccariophoenix alfredii and Ptychosperma lauterbachii

Veitchia joannis was looking good

Pritchardia hillebrandii (rescued from Wal's place ) was doing well

Dypsis 215 was still there but owner told me had struggled with dryness and lost some stems.

Dictyosperma were growing well, although one has succumbed (or is about to) to a health condition...v. conjugatum on right

Ptychosperma lauterbachii was covered in inflorescences and was looking awesome...IMO a better palm in that climate thn P.macarthurii

Beccariophonxis alfredii...8.5 years from a 200mm pot...doing well! Full size Alcantarea in front of it for scale

Satakentia were looking awesome...should be more widely grown in SE QLD those crownshafts were fat! And the Neoveitchia rescue palm is still alive!

I’m so glad they’re looking after your old collection Daryl. You found a good buyer.

I nearly had a heart attack when I went past my old Perth place recently. Not a single palm or plant was left in the front yard and the rear palm garden had about 80 percent removed. Ponds, dry creek beds and walkways all gone. Dead flat and boring. Sad.

Yeah, saw it with Wal's old place as well. And recently Paul's (Comic97) place which lasted a few years but now has had every single plant removed...
