Does anyone have photos of palms starting to form duel trunks? I never seen what that looks like.

That waggie is incredible...I wonder what would happen if I planted two palms only inches away from eachother? I heard they grow faster to compete for sunlight but it might give that double headed look! Hmmm:P

That Waggie looks like it's been decapitated at some stage causing two trunks to form. Look at the size of the main trunk compared to the two new trunks. Still an interesting palm. Here is a branching lutescens.

Given that some of the suckers are coming out of the trunk on this Phoenix Dactylifera, I may end up with trunks going everywhere:

this dypsis pembana was a single trunk had a spear pull as a young palm(3' overall)in the winter of 2010(28F x 2 days plus frost).  After it regrew the first, and then a second trunk.   today its about 20' tall overall.

Dual trunks are very rare even here where palms are abundant in most areas.
