I'm also fairly new to the palm world. Washingtonia robusta was my first ever palm, and grown from seed. Very fast and easy.

The first pic is from when it first emerged in June 2015, and the second pic is from October 2016, roughly 2 feet tall in 16 months.

Love the conjugatom.

What a wonderful and inspiring thread!! Next time I get a day off during the week - meaning I will be all alone with my

plants ;) when wife and kids are out for work/school/kindergarden - I am going to take a closer look at my young garden

while roaming through my archives to find something comparable...

Looking forward to this task -

best regards

Fun thread, I'll play. I'm not near my personal computer so Google and Bing maps proved to be my friend. Here are a couple of street views, The first from 2011 the last 4 years later in 2015.

Solid zone 9, I can expect at least one night in the mid to low twenties every year.

Hot, dry summers. Cold, wet winters.

Reminds me of Jumanji...:floor:

Hello everyone - and A Happy New Year to all of you! -,

I`ve got these ones to show - my W. robustas - grown from seed.

They were one of the first palms I started to grow, right after buying the house, and they are the fastest ones.

001.thumb.JPG.9e30f135d86781857817d73588

At that time, Nov.2013, they were half a year old - those tiny things to the left and right of the Alocasia odora (which I had put there temporary for ornamental reasons)...

002.thumb.JPG.a2be590f974fd843e71ad6f87d

... and here they are right now, Jan 2017, photo taken yesterday.

I know, I have pruned them a bit too much, but sometimes cleaning up gets out of hands. ;)

best regards

So nice to see that the 'crazy' Palm people are alive and well!

Ante, the red house and the path to the front door is beautiful.
