Great present! It's been the 'go to' book for years, an earlier edition and now this updated version.

It gets heavy use, yours will too.

Love it.  Dransfields Genera Palmarum is great too but it's a much denser, scientific read, more like a textbook for botany students.  These are my two coffee table books.   :)  Enjoy!

It's my palm bible. I have the previous edition as well as the new one. I've referred to both over & over. Enjoy.

I spent so much time with my nose buried in EofCP that my puppy got jealous and tried to take it out.  I had to keep GP hidden until she got over it!   :)

Nice! I got the exact same book for Christmas as well. It gives a really detailed description of many palms, and the pictures are great!

I am jealous.  I would love to have that book.  I have Riffle's "The Tropical Look", though.  I do have Betrock's "Landscape Palms".

Christmas present to myself and found inexpensively on Amazon.  Since I'm trying to collect as many Chamaedorea palms as I can since they have to be indoors thought this book would come in handy.

Any reviews from member who have read this book?  I've heard that since it was written some in the genus have changed names.

Read this book and set things in motion for me to grow palms in my 5b/6a climate. Is a great read for us in cold hardy locations. Then I think about all the extra money I would have if I didn't spend so much on palm trees.

I don't have it but I've considered buying it.  Let us know what you think.

I've heard it was the bible for Chamaedoea lovers like me. I was pretty much chastised by a member on here because I was asking too many questions about the species in forums on here.  The book is expensive if bought new but was able to find this one on Amazon for less than $30 shipped.(used)

It's a fantastic book for Cham lovers. I bought mine in 2014 at the Biennial.

Imho, the whole point of this forum is to ask questions and find answers.  By the time any book is published some of the info is going to be obsolete, hence PT.  I'm surprised anyone would give grief to a person who can grow a palm in NE. Sorry
