Hi there - Summer is just around the corner, so i thought i would post an update on my Dypsis decipiens and then one in Autumn next year.
This December it will have been planted out 5-years. In that time the coldest overnight low was -4.7°c ( 23.5°f ) - It sustained some foliage damage, but was fine.
They are much slower in growth ( In my climate ) than my Rhopalostylis sapida "pitt island" Nikaus - I would say half the speed.
I would rate it a -5°c Palm here in New Zealand, but it is going to take a long time before i see some trunk ( Maybe another 10-years ) So here it is today.
