A few more Matthew pics- Daytona area

Not to be beating a dead horse , but we were hit fairly badly.     Yesterday , one month after the storm , I drove around a bit and took a few pics.

This urban area is made up of 7 separate cities , and part of it is not in a city but is in the County of Volusia . So.., as result , the cleanup has varied a great deal.

Side streets in Daytona Beach ,  still have debris canyons in many cases.  Signs , particularly on the beachside , have been damaged greatly . many bigger stumps and

large bldg. debris are here and there as well.  Bit by bit , it's being cleaned up though.

Here's a few pics , all on the beachside , in Daytona Beach , and in Ormond Beach .  Damage to palms varies quite a lot from one neighborhood to another .

Apparently there were " streaks " of higher winds , and luck of the draw made a difference , as to which palms etc were damaged or not .

I included  a couple of Ficus's  as well , just for the tropicalness of it . We do not have many of them .

ouch

But, like the Phoenix it will rise again from the ashes, and in a few years the damage will be unapparent in the palms.

Glad things weren't worse.
