Hello Ahamed

I have only tried out two coconut varieties before.

These two I got in the supermarket they came from Brazil supposedly, they were around 3 kg each (6.6 pounds) : eBVeV6Q.jpg

I bought the two most mature/brown ones hoping there was a slight chance to sprout something from them. I put them in the sun and after around 1 week and a half one of them cracked, so I opened it and tasted it:

As you can see it was even more brown when I opened it

And this was the amount of water it had, it filled a big bowl and a glass and let's not forget that since I found it cracked it had already lost some of its water:

I believe this variety was a Panama/Pacific Tall because the nuts were very round and heavy, did not look like a dwarf with this size. The water did not have much taste to be honest and only a hint of sweetness, perhaps it would have been sweeter had it been picked from the coconut tree when younger.

The other variety I have tried is this one, which I have told you about before in PM:

They are 100% organic and supposedly come from Thailand, I went to their site and supposedly these are the Aromatic Green Dwarfs or Nam hom coconuts. I would rate this water with 5 stars! I suppose they taste even better when you drink it in Thailand as these exported coconuts probably lose some of their qualities during the time they travel and are consumed.

I am eager to see if other people can share their info on this as well, supposedly the best time to harvest coconuts for drinking is around 6-8 months, when water reaches maximum sweetness.

I got a green coconut off a tree in Florida to attempt to grow.  after finding out it wasn't mature, i took a throwing axe and split it, and mixed it with carbonated water.  it was very good.   as for my coconuts, I have 2.  one is a small Florida Malayan dwarf, and the other has a nut twice the size from hawaii.  Idk what kind it is though.  these pictures are quite old by 6 months, and the seedling now has a half size leaf.   the malayan has also 2 new fronds as well

I planted a sprouted nut very early on in this garden . Golden Malay Dwarf , water is very sweet .

It is currently loaded with nuts . These are very fast growing and could have been at this stage 4 years ago if it had not been blown over in a cyclone . 11 years from planting .

Thanks for the pictures and descriptions.

So that Dwarf King coconut is a true dwarf, amazing if it only reaches 15 ft (around 5 m). One could harvest them with stairs even when they are mature. Seeing how close India is from Sri Lanka and knowing this Dwarf King has very very sweet water, extremely short size and orange nuts, maybe it is related to the famous Chowghat Orange Dwarf from India? Chowghat Orange also only grows up to 5 m supposedly.

Michael that Malayan Golden Dwarf looks very good, healthy and full of fruits! In this picture it looks more yellow than golden, maybe it is just the picture, either way I am glad someone finally confirmed what I have been reading, that Malayan Golden Dwarf is a very good variety for drinking!

Keep it coming, we need more data.

Love those orange hued coconuts. Here's a shot from Pompano Beach FL. This large coco holding probably 200 nuts at a the time.

There have been many varieties and colorforms introduced to S.E. Florida that have since interbred over and over. But judging by the other cocos planted close by

probably a  Maypan.

Yeah it's a Maypan (Malayan dwarf X Panama tall).

That king coconut is super cool :greenthumb:
