Hi Mohsen. That soil looks good. I presume that they would curve, but i don't think I have ever seen a double planted.

Thanks Steve

I also fill the hole with water and the drainage is not that bad....

Is the double common for D.Lepto?  I should know before planting it in ground !

Can or should  I separate them?

That would be great if someone help or post a pics of the double.

Perhaps plant them near each other but like 50 cm - 1m away?

I believe that the double comes from repotting two seedlings together.
I am afraid it's too late for separating them and I doubt they'll both grow nicely in the future.
You may accept that only the strongest survives. :D

Thanks Phillippe

I separated big triple Kentia once and they happily survived...I wish The D.Lepto was like that...

There was a single stem there when I got this but I thought the double is better...now I see I might be wrong...

I am not even sure that I like the curved D.Lepto now...But what can I do now > :(

Plant it and watch. I think a curved trunk will be visually pleasing and the smaller one will provide you with red fuzz at easy reach for a little while longer.

I would say they are not so strong, and I am not sure the smaller one will last too long...

Comments? Opinions?

Hi All

Jut got this guy ( or I should say guys as it has two stem and I don't think it is a clustering palm?) It is beautiful and healthy ...

It is in 100 L bag and over 2.5 m tall ( from tip of new unopened frond) ...

I was thinking to plant it near to our new Granny Flat , we dug and unfortunately we hit the rock ( I hate it) , so no way we could go deep there...

Now I am not sure if I can find another place for it :(  my question is :

1- Before I find a final home for this, how often I should water it...every day? every other day ? It is in full sun...

2- Can I build a raised bed over the site ( where we hit the rock) and plant it? I am not sure if it is a good idea as what would happen to the drainage at the bottom of the raised bed still will be the rock

3- Can I buy a huge pot and keep it there forever ?anyone has even done this for a long time?

Thanks for any input

Mohsen

The new spear is opening now :)  still in the bag ...watering every other day...

Here some pictures of doubles growing in Gardens By The Bay, Singapore (december 2012) I am not sure that the trunks are as strong as they are when solitary.

Thanks Philippe

In the first picture the double seems having the same trunk diameter ?

Anyway I think I don't have any option and I should plant them as they are , it is near zero chance if I can separate them without killing them I guess
