Troy sent me some seed  of  Bob De jung's "BIG" Sapida, 1 has finally been planted today with a very young  Kiwi Dusk X Rainbow Bch Vriesea infront.

In between NZ and Rainbow beach in Qld is Gods country of Far Nth NSW  :D   Its lookn a little yellow bob as its been sitting in a compot of pure sand. Dont worry, I'll get this baby pump'n..     Pete

How does sapida go for you down there Pete?......... They just looked sick all of the time when I tried them in Brisbane and up here I am not going to bother.

Andrew, this is my 1st Sapida inground, I reckon it'll crank.. The 1 from Norfolk Island  ( Baueri) does very well even in full sun , they still , well after a good 5 yrs have a deep green with no burning in full sun. I look fwd to watching this 1 grow,   raining now so planted it on a good day..    Pete

Will be interesting to see how it goes, I grew R,baueri quite well but R.sapida repeatedly failed for me.

It'll  crank, its planted in Gods Country.. :)

Cool Troy, mines that height but skinny from being in a compot of sand  for years.

Anyway, thanks to You n Bob she's now inground n ready to crank, all this week days will be around 25c so she will put on some growth pretty quick over the next  8 to 9  months. :)      Pete

Theres 1 of mine kindly sent from troy doing really well now its in the ground growing very fast, great palm for my climate.
