The two recent leaves of this girl opened scorched, one spear pulled and this other  spear scorched as well. In shade.

Any suggestions will be very appreciated.

Thanks,

B.

I inspected the roots, were almost totally dry due to free draining media.

Do you think it can survive?

Thanks for your help.

A Butia I have has the same color around the bases of the fronds, it is growing well, I think it will survive, maybe give it a little more water and see what happens?

This palm grows along stream beds in Madagascar so it is a true water lover. You won't be able to overwater in free draining soil.

I think with some better wattering and a less draining pot, It should survive as long as there are still green on the leaves and/or green fronds

I read that from Palm Pedia.
