Below is a copy of a post from John DeMott aka 'Redland' on the Forum. I am posting and pinning this message here so it doesn't get lost. Feel free to respond here, or PM John at his 'Redland' username.

"All the back issues of palmcepies have been placed on 7 pallets 4'X4'X3' and are awaiting pick-up at Allen Press in Lawrence Kansas.

Dial Dunkin, Allan Crockett, and Tad Dyer have stepped up to the plate and  between the three of them they have committed to storing and shipping our books, space is no problem, when we need them they can box/bag/package/whatever how many etc...and send them off to where they need to be.

A big round of thanks is in order to these guys.

Our next problem is getting them form Ks. to Harlingen Texas. I have been working on it for a week or so now and the best freight rate I have come up with so far is $1500. This seems awful high to me. It is only about 1030 miles and we only need about 8' of a 48' flatbed or van. Any suggestions?

John "

yee haw!  South Texas rocks!

The memorial bench for Robert Riffle will be delivered from Iowa.  Kansas isn't exactly enroute, but I could make an inquiry just for grins.  It would be so appropriate for those journals to travel with Bob's memorial.

Got the freight for $700, we should have the back issues in South texas by the end of next week.

Stay tuned!

Thanks again Tad, Allen, and Dial

The result of the purge is 7 pallets, 4x4, of journals that are roughly 3 feet high.  Each pallet was firmed up with cardboard and then wrapped.  The pallets are currently at AM&M shipping docks awaiting pickup.

Unfortunately the truck canceled at the last minute. I have increased the rate to $800 and posted it twice a week on a site we use to find trucks, no action yet. We have until early July to accomplish this. We will have to pay either $.03¢ per issue to have them dumped or $1500 freight to South Texas.

Still looking for trucking.

Help!

john, I have a small credit with you, I am willing to donate that towards the cause, if that will help get the ball rolling.

There is a Yahoo groups site dedicated to auto transport or the like. People will post if they have an empty trailer or such.  May be worth looking into. PM me if you can't locate the info thru a search.
