In Thabit Suby's garden, near Piliyandala,  it's wonderful to see these Dypsis lastelianna starting to trunk.

So strong men!

you can note that the palm on the left jumped out of his pot by himself, but the one on the right is still shy to do so.

One always wants what one cannot have. These grow like crazy in Hawaii, but are barely worth growing around here, as they will never achieve those proportions or that look. Fantastic palms regardless.

Zone 10a at best after 2007 AND 2013, on SW facing hill, 1 1/2 miles from coast in Oceanside, CA. 30-98 degrees, and 45-80deg. about 95% of the time.

I do some experiments and learning in my garden with palms so you don't have to experience the pain! Look at my old threads to find various observations and tips!

WOW, these pics make me happy, I wish I could watch some of them every morning ! Thank you, Pete.
I am almost jealous when I see mature palms in nice gardens, when I compare with the starting point in which we are in Dorankanda gardens.
How many years before I can see such beauties in our garden? ten?
