Zombia antillarum

Featured Replies

I went out early this morning to trim my Zombia so I could see how the seeds were coming along. A couple hours later I decided to take some pics, and got lucky to find a black snake in it.

Beautiful palm, i would totally consider one. Ive got my own black racer that hangs out and scares the hell out of me when i least expect it.

Yes the snakes usually startle me in the bromeliad patch, where they hunt for frogs. /////See how your Coccothrinax does this winter. Zombia has about the same hardiness, if you can grow one, you can grow the other. That is as long as it's not in a low/wet spot.

Impressive palm and snake! I only see gray racers, not the black ones.

The Zombia was one of the few palms I had originally not planned to grow. However your post and others have caused me to change my mind.
