Interesting ... of note Victoria, BC Canada is rated as zone 9 but Seattle zone 8. Seattle should be given an equal zone 9 rating.

New orleans and houaton are zone 8 as well. Thats way off.

    Interesting data and it certainly is conservative in its zone designations, which is fine. But I have to point out some errors as they designated Fayetteville, NC as an 8A and Columbia, SC as a 7B. Don't know how they come up with that since Fayetteville has a lower record low as well as a lower average low. Still an interesting perspective but not all correct.

    This map is incorrect. Most of tropical areas are warmer than zone 11. Some places like Cuba are mostly zone 11 and 12 but Puerto Rico has warmer zones.  

    It has NYC as 7a, but it's actually at the upper end of the 7b range. I'm splitting hairs, but those extra degrees can make a difference.

    True, this map is off, I see it displays area to be cooler than they are. It would be nice to have a more accurate one with the latter ratings (a/b).

    I prefer the official USDA zone map. Although it could use a few tweaks! For the U.S.
