Impressed With Galveston/Moody Gardens

Featured Replies

I'm back in Houston continuing the job search, I took a little break out to Galveston and was impressed with the palmage out there, even some surprises.

Not a great photo out the car window but there were a handful of foxtails, not the greatest specimens but impressive that they are there

A nice treat, a wonder appears in the atmosphere right before sunset, a great way to end the dayIMG_2741.thumb.JPG.ba6a5d6e5616168198663

Looks like they probably have Orlando type winters, with those zone 10 palms (foxtail, plumeria, ficus, royals) nipped in a year like 2010.

Bonus round: ran into some native Sabal minor on a nature trail in Houston, I love seeing palms in habitat, even the humble Sabal minor!
