I Dislike several palms for various reasons.  Ive never really liked washingtonias in florida not because of the palm, but because I see them planted near wild coconuts or right on the ocean in florida right next to wild palmettos and dunes.  They just look out of place and take away the essence of florida's wildlife.  I also dislike dwarf date palms due to their being overused in south florida.  I also dislike any hurricane cut fan palm especially hurricane cut Palmettos.  I also hate potted majesty palms becuse they almost never make it to full size.  queen palms are also annoying and over used in florida and even south georgia.  they also look like garbage when not trimmed and take the cold quite bad.  here are some pics in south georgia.  what are your guys least favorites?

Of course this is subjective. Dypsis lutescens, Caryota mitis and Phoenix robellini for me. I wish the box stores would introduce some new species for the masses. No fan of Queens and Washies either

I'm a new member here and I think all palms can look bad if not cared for properly - my least favorite is Trachycarpus fortunei particularly here in SE Texas because they don't do very well here and the leaves have a hap-hazard growth pattern.  Some local young specimens do look OK but the majority look sickly even when healthy - I personally have lost 2 of them because of too much sun exposure.  Washingtonia sp. also simply because they are everywhere here and almost no one properly trims the old leaf petioles from the trunk.  The palm does very well here and I have noticed a recent "trend" in the Houston area of trimming and tearing off old petioles to create a smooth trunk.  To me this practice looks much better than leaving 1000's of 6-8" old petioles hanging from the trunk.

Any malnourished or under watered palm. That's it. I don't dislike any palm species. They are all intriguing to me.

Washingtonia in Florida. I like their looks until they get ridiculously tall and pole-like, but they're invasive weeds in the Sunshine State. Ditto Phoenix senegalensis. Hard to properly accommodate something so big and nasty. They're also weeds in Florida.

I ain't too partial to the notion of them exotic Thrinax and Coccothrinax miscegenatin' with our native species, though I do think they're purty!

I don't like queens, and I hate those plastic coconut palms at restaurants. Oh yeah and those fake Palm tower disguises in California.

Saw palmetto if that even counts... Basically just weeds here.

Trachycarpus fortunei: I don't like the the leaves' random positioning in the crown, the propensity for magnesium deficiency in California's dry conditions, even the leafbase fiber. However, in Japan they are rather pretty, I suppose thanks to the plentiful summer moisture and rich volcanic soils.

African oil palm (Elaeis guineensis); cold sensitive, heavily armed petioles, heavy (by weight) fronds, totally out of scale for a small yard.  Mine cost me $3 for a small 3 gal some 20 years ago; cost me $1000 to get rid of the monster last year with stump grinding.

Hmm. I hate washies till I imagine the skyline of home without them. Ditto for CIDP, etc.

This is more of a balancing test.

Whoo-ee!

That thing's hairier than a dog's [hind end]!

They're a lot prettier in California. Trachies hate high heat and humidity if I recall.

Just picked up a really nice L. grandis over three feet tall and deep green at a local nursery in my area. I was shocked to see it and grabbed it. I hope I don't kill it.

Not your typical find at a non-specialty palm nursery here in California.  If anyone in Los Altos can give them a good home, I'm sure it is you!

keep that thing out of any dry winds or it will be toast.

maybe somewhere around your water feature where the humidity is higher.

All you Washingtonia haters in Florida are a trip! I think they are nice looking palms wherever they can grow.  Here is a shot of a nice looking Washingtonia at Four Mile Cove Ecological Preserve in Cape Coral, Florida taken back in 2010.  No supplemental watering or manicuring that I could see; just growing "au naturale" like a boss!

BTW...Queens are my least favorite.
