My Bismarkia planted about 13 years ago from a small 15 gallon.  One of Kevin Weavers palms. This one has never missed a beat.

Here are some local examples of Bismarkia nobilis........... The Whitsunday Regional Council has used them extensively around here in landscaping.

Nice Bizzies everyone.  I love these palms and think they look great at any age/size.  Saw this big one last weekend at a nearby hotel pool.

On the subject of Bismarckias, like any plant, there is always variation within the species.  We all know that leaf colour varies from pure green, through to blue and then to silvery white, mainly due to the wax I'm guessing, but have you ever noticed that there are different leaf forms as well?

Some plants have more deeply divided and less costapalmate leaves compared to others.

Here's a couple of young Bizzzies growing side by side for comparison...identical climate, soil and aspect so why are the leaves different?

I've noticed this too. By knowing what characteristics to look for we can choose for ourselves the most bitchin bizzie in the neighborhood.

For example I dont like the olive green looking bizzies. So I would stay away from choosing any that have that color and would look for a super silver or blue instead.

Get ready Jim.  I have a feeling it is going to take off this year.  For many reasons.

I have a few Bismarckias  I got from Kevin Weavers  but they are still pretty small.  Can't wait for mine to be as big as some of the ones posted up above.

I really love the blue color Bismarckia.  Usually when I see a real nice one I take a photo or a selfie.  I know Disneyland in Florida  planted a whole bunch on their property.  Who needs a selfie with Mickey Mouse when you have this beautiful palm in your selfie pic. Lol
