I needed 1 more archontophoenix to get my backyard design just right so I visited a nearby grower. The gentlemen I purchased it from had some pretty interesting crosses, but this one stood out because it is such a dark green so I figured it would be the perfect addition although I really don't know what it is. I think it is cunninghamiana x something, but it could be anything other than purpurea. Any thoughts on what this is?

Yep, not an Archontophoenix, looks like a Adonidia.

Lol, that would explain why it looks so different. I'll be taking it back. Thanks!

Thanks again, super disappointed because I already planted & fertilized it and now I've got to go dig it up. I'm surprised it is an adonidia because I don't think he sells them there, this was just mixed in with what I know are archies so at the time I just figured it was just a special hybrid. The thought never crossed my mind that it wasn't an archie at all. :(
