Awesome photos!  I wonder if they didn't know about the cold hardiness of some of these when originally planted; I should think both the Butia and Jubaea would be fine outside in London?  They could have then reserved the indoor space for more tropical species?

Hey Pal,

the Lodoicea has been bed planted since then and has grown a bit also (if it is the same plant of course). Pics taken few days ago.

I think I'll give this palm a go. It is soooo beautiful. We also have strong winds sometimes here but not as often as on the coast of Attica.

When I lived in London, my satnav commute to work took me right through that neighborhood daily. Lots of people living outside the park have palms in their gardens. It's a great old Victorian attraction - very pleasant way to spend a liesurely Sunday afternoon.
