I scored some seeds of this palm. Is germination of Astrocaryum campestre the same as for other Astrocaryum species?

Interesting palm tree. I believe it germinates at a temperature between 35 and 40 degrees.

¿Donde las conseguiste? Es uno de mis Astrocaryum favoritos porque es pequeño.

Sobre la germinación, creo que a diferencia de otros Astrocaryum no necesitaría tanta agua ya que crece en el cerrado brasilero donde tienen temporadas sin lluvias. Ví que es para la zona 9b, ¿será que soporta tanto frío? Se me hace demasiado para un Astrocaryum. Y creo que vas a necesitar un suelo con buen drenaje, como arenoso.

Thanks for posting, interesting genus with a wide range of morphology. You rarely see any Astrocaryum on the board, which is too bad because they go from dwarf to magnificent forms.

I remember seeing A. chambira in habit in Ecuador, and have never seen a more beautiful tree. There are some nice photos on Palmpedia.
