moving T fortunei into shade

today I am thinking of moving my trachycarpus fortunei into the shade the reason I am doing this is because I heared the fronds grow giant like is this true? I have to repot it so would it be ideal to add blood,fish,bone to my 50/50 multipurpose/john Innes 3 soil and water the rootball with palmbooster.what you guys think.

From my experience, T. fortunei seem to do better in part shade. The fronds get bigger and develop a rich, dark green color.

They get a much more elegant, droopy look. Not sure how long it will take the plant to acclimate to that and start to show those characteristics, but they do well in the shade.

If you have room, why not just get another T. fortunei and plant that one in more shade. That way you’ll have one in each growing location to compare and enjoy.  You can never have enough palms, especially just starting out.

done that yesterday got one in full shade and one in full sun
