Are bangalow palm fruit edible? what do they taste like?

Posted

I have never tried them but juice from the fruit irritated/burned my skin when I cleaned them so they may have oxalic acid in them (or maybe I'm just very sensitive/allergic). Now I wear vinyl gloves.

I don't think that it would be toxic but is just a very thin fruit.........more like a skin.............. It is interesting what you are saying Meg, I haven't ever had any problem with irritation from of the Archontophoenix species, you may be allergic to them............ Carpentaria acuminata on the other hand, I don't bother de-fleshing because of the oxalic crystals contained in the fruit.
