Very good! I like the fact that these palms will stay at a dippable size.

    Here again my smallest Tuerckheim baby :wub: just after a bath with Palmolive® dish soap; :greenthumb: since I am using that soap there didn’t appear even one spider mite :evil: …

    I'm in love with this palm.... Is there any reliable source for seeds as seedlings aren't available?

    Thanks a lot. I will try this out but i will use another soap without palmoil. The company responsible for palmolive got the worst score from Greenpeace in regard to deforestation and the responsible use of palmoil.

    You could try liquid castille soap. Most of that is made of olive or coconut oil, contains no detergents and is kind to palm leaves.

    When dipping N°1501 into the bucket filled with soap water I hurt the then longest leaf a bit … :(

    These are mine from Jeff 2.5 years ago as 1 leaf seedlings. They have been in this spot for the entire time. You can see the damage from battling spider mites. Most of them are still holding the original leaf. My two larger ones in the ground on the other side of the house don't have the spider mite problem but the older leaf's dry out faster. Not sure why. Any Idea's on mite control and why the potted one's leaf's look better?

    Finally, the only one remaining out of three,  is looking great and and ready for a close-up. This one has been outside in a pot for awhile now and so

    far has never had any challenges with mites or mealy bugs. Great little palm.

    They're called "potato chips" because one is not enough................

     

    Meg,  As adults they're much more tolerant. These were in the ground 6 years ago, dug up & thrown back into pots for 2 years, then re-planted here at my new house over a year ago. They never skipped a beat.

    @beliz1985 The seedlings do not look like Cham tuercks. What species of Chamaedorea do you have else in your garden? Cham tenerrima, Cham verecunda, Cham vulcanensis, Cham paucifolia, ……?

    I don't know. That's the palm I wanted to buy :) hoped those seedlings were tuerckheimii but after checking some photos online... 

    Marius, those seedlings are not Cham tuercks, which are not bifid.
