Hi guys, just thought I'd show you my garden centre rescue palm.

Found this in between Christmas trees in December in the local garden centre chain store.

Cost me £2.50, so that's $3.60!

It flies! Put out two full leaves so far with two more nearly out. Will try planting out in the spring but won't survive a bad winter here without an awful lot of protection.

It's looking pretty happy indoors atm. Maybe plant it in the ground in the plastic pot during the summer, and dig it up and store in a warm place over the winter.

You can also keep them in pots for many years as I did; here a Washingtonia kept nine years in a pot:
