Andrew,

DHL works very well, you can send your seedlings, no problem.

More seriously: any idea about seeds available somewhere ?

i think someone already growing this species unaware of new species  because raja ampat is a popular  tourist destination

I am not sure,

Why don't we travel there? it's not too far from Sri Lanka.

  • 6 years later...

Still never seen one in person. One day hopefully, it will come my way.

I tried seeds of these; the problem, I theorise, is that they are collected from the ground too long after they have fallen from the tree. A certain species of beetle(?) then lays its eggs on the seeds on the ground, and the larvae hatch and devour the embryo as soon as the conditions for germination are met. As such I had no success.
If I were to try it again, I'd soak the seeds in a systemic insecticide to try to kill the eggs first.
Or, if you go to Raja Ampat, collect some seeds while they are still on the palm.
