Any Nice Gardens Near Clearwater, Florida

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

Ben Morris is a fairly astute palm junkie. He introduced me to palms and has one of the best collections in Costa Rica. Over several years of potting up Floribunda orders and going on plant trips to San Vito he has become a great friend. Unfortunately his wife was diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer and he is currently in Clearwater, Florida seeking alternative medical therapies. He reached out to me recently to find him some cool gardens in the Clearwater area and any help would be greatly appreciated as he is a very cool guy and I think it would really cheer him up.

Thanks,

Jason

Keith noted two great gardens close to Clearwater. Kopsick is a must for a palm junkie. Another great garden a little over a hour drive south of Clearwater is Marie Selby Botanical Gardens in Sarasota.

I really enjoyed sunken gardens. Kopsick is a must see as well. They are easily within 3 miles of each other.

Another nice garden to visit close to Clearwater is The Florida Botanical Gardens located in Largo. I believe it is around 180 acres and it includes a palm garden.

Hi Jason, Sorry to hear about Ben's wife condition.  I understand his situation.  I have a 1.5 acre palm garden and nursery where he can stop by in the Seminole area just south of clearwater.  I would enjoy talking to him about Wilson garden in San Vito.  Have him email me and we can accommodate him.

I wish your friend and his wife the best.  Can't weigh in on the garden, but I can say a prayer for them tonight, and I will.
