Good day everyone.  I am trying to round up some Palms to add to my front & back yard to accent all my other Palms I have collected and planted this summer/fall.  I wish I had known more about Blue/Silver Palm options when I started but I can still add them in spots I have open.  Or even pull some to add variety to all my Kings, Foxtails, Royals, Chambeys.

Here is some I have already gathered but not put into ground yet.

Bismarkia Noblis( Have planted 2)

15ga Brahea Armata

2- 5ga Brahea Decumbens

1- 5ga Chamerops Cerifera

1- 5ga Brahea Clara??

1- 1ga Sabal Uresana

1- 1ga Copernicia Prunifera

1-1ga Nannorops Arabica

Any Suggestions on others that might grow in So Cal?

Prichardia Blue Moon?

Super Silver ?

Trying to find at lest 5ga size, some I've only been able to locate in 1ga

Any suggestions or ideas greatly appreciated.

some additional possible suggestions would be:

Butia yatay

Copernicia hospita

Hyphaene coriacea

Latania loddigesii

Phoenix dactylifera (some forms are very silvery)

Sereona repens (Silver form)

Trachycarpus princeps

Trithrinax campestris

Trithrinax schizophylla

Good luck with your new plantings!

A few of these plants I believe will not grow in So Cal.  Copernicia Hospita Florida only? Can find Alba & Prunifera.

Trachycarpus Princeps I believe Same.

Going to find some Super Silvers ASAP.  Hard to find.

I can't really comment on Copernicia at this stage (just a few in my greenhouse), but T. princeps grows great in California.  Here, anyway.  And I am super hot in the summer.

Save your money on "Blue Moon" unless you just want to grow an easy and hardy green Pritchardia. I don't know a single person growing it that has had it turn out blue or even shown a hint at blue. Mine is almost trunking and it is green.

Yeah, we need to call Jeff Markus out on that one. Why don't you fire off a stern email to him Len? :)

Kerriodoxa grows here. I live in the worse microclimate in San Diego and I have 2. Ones been in the ground for 3 years and never showed any damage. Get one for sure.

Kerriodoxa grows owls well for me and I'm in a horrible microclimate. I've had one in the ground for 3 years without a prob. Give one a try
