Recent rainfall and lighting really brought out the color on this double Dypsis decipiens.

Cindy, I've got two H. dransfieldii and neither has ever thrown a red frond, a variation I was not aware of. Love the leaves on this palm though and like the genus as well.

Hmmm.... I have at least one more still in a pot so will see what happens when it gets bigger. Yes, the whole genus is very nice!

Burretiokentia dumasii. Shown this palm before, but this new

leaf even more colorful. Maybe because it is getting more mature?

Really Nice Time. Has the Satakentia shown purple hue since it was small? Maybe Iʻll have to get a couple from Floribunda. My P. caesia seed looks

like yours I have only gotten seed twice after many failures. Has yours set any seed?

Colin, the three Satakentia in the garden have always had a little purple coloring, but recently are showing more. They’ve been in the ground

for eight or so years, so it’s taken a long time. I do like how smooth and clean they look.

TJ, no photoshop......honest. Right after leaf sheath fall, they’re more purple and then slowly turn bluish.  Awesome palms.
