Even Archonto. Cunningh. Illawarra shows off a little  tinge in red.

My 5 mt tall Illawarra, planted in the ground has never shown such colour.

I can't believe I got 2 of these for $5. IMG_20251205_163201.thumb.jpg.7339b28770a0e7dee225b0ef5b4e02b7.jpg

And I see these listed on eBay and Etsy for like $150 and I put it in a Wendys cup that still has a masking tape label from a banana on the side. This truly is a classy operation down here.

So, this post is inspired by Tracy’s C. prestonianus seed bounty. That time of year eh?

As the sun fell lower in the sky, something red was lit up toward the east. What could it be?

Grabbed the phone and went to see. A sight I have never witnessed before, the unveiling of a fresh inflorescence of Loxococcus rupicola -- and wow, was it ever RED! Below you can see what caught my eye.

Loxoxcoccusrupicola.1_12_26.IMG_46112.thumb.jpeg.5d48f6abdede1ac665a2a3104fdba0dc.jpeg

Closer -- evidently I was disturbing a pair of Madagascar geckos -- can you find them?

Loxococcusrupicola.11226.IMG_4612.thumb.jpeg.12eeffa11e3512971d7fefa7c295bca7.jpeg

Below you can see the formed seeds on another Loxococcus rupicola.

I sometimes have trouble remembering the name of this palm. My trick is to start with Coca-cola and then it falls into place.
