Here's my White Triangle today, I'd guess about 5-6 years in the ground.

Is that triangle x pembana? Is that palm which is immediately to the right of your white triangle a sucker or a separate plant?

looks great and a fantastic growth rate :greenthumb:

supe cool palm. Mine has multiple trunks and grows fast as well. :)

You know what? I have a very similar looking palm that I acquired under the label Dypsis ankizenensis.  I'll have to get a pic tomorrow.

Different palms Matt, but certainly similar. This Cabadae x Decaryii is larger, keeled crown shaft and wider/thicker in leaflets. I think the plant we got as Ankizenensis might be Cabadae x Madagascariensis.  Can only guess.

Beauty. Goes well with your other plantings. Is that a Sabal minor to the left?

Peter's is definitely more keeled and has more red fuzz too.  But this D. ankizenensis has a similar look.

Why can't I upload any more pics?  It says I'm only allowed 8.11MB.  Is that for this whole thread?

Hey Matty, does your palm have a sort of peach colored "push"? Looks similar to a palm I got from Joe. I figured it was a hybrid, & it's a fast grower. Yours looks great!

No pink leaf.  By "push" do you mean spear coloring?  I've never noticed any.

Yeah, where it grows out of the growing point. Yours looks green. Everything at your place looks big. Wow.

Bret, I pretty sure the one you got from Joe is just a D. madagascariensis. Still a nice plant :greenthumb:

Hey Josh, wouldn't most madagascariensis have irregular leaflets? Mine is a simple V leaf. It always looked like it had pembana in it to me.

I came across this post that is looking very similar to this hybrid I have. What do you guys think, is it possible that I came across a white triangle? Sorry for the bad pics, really windy from the storm that just passed. Also any updated pics or new pics would be appreciated as well thanks.

If I were to guess on yours, I would say it’s Pembana x Madagascariensis. That cross seems to happy frequently. I have several in my garden, most of which I bought as Pembana and they ended up showing hybrid traits.

Thanks Jason, I'll take it! Whatever it is it's a fast grower and almost trunking.  I was hoping someone would say it is white triangle because I always wanted one 🤣. Now I have to be in search of one still

It’s a nice looking palm and since both Pembana and Madagascariensis are tristichous, it’s still a white triangle in a way, at least in my opinion 😂

I have a few hybrid palms that look very similar to the white triangle shown in this thread that don’t have any Decipiens in them.  So it’s possible to come across them out there. Mine were purchased as Dypsis sp. Mayotte from Floribunda.

where did your palm come from originally?

That's what I'll call it for myself white triangle, til I get the real deal if I ever get it🤣. I got it from Mark M. in oceanside as a 1 gallon 3 years ago, it probably came from floribunda also I'm assuming because he gets alot from there as well.  Thanks guys for your help and if you have some pictures to share as well, that would be a bonus. Thanks!

I’ll try to get some pictures soon. And yeah, if it’s originally from Floribunda that would make sense. I’ve bought a few Pembanas there and they turned out to be this hybrid.  Very fast palms!

Here’s mine a bit less than year ago. It’s grown quite a lot since. C pembanus struggles here and C madagascariensis is a bit of a snail, so it’s nice to have some hybrid vigour. The Chrysalidocarpus hybrids all seem to show great vigour from my experience.

Here are 2 of mine. My largest is too hard to get a good picture of.

This one is solitary:

this one is clumping:

IMG_1174.thumb.jpeg.08b366bf101ac76fd99b3f8110cb0019.jpeg

and here’s a photo with both of them:

IMG_1176.thumb.jpeg.1741549e47ac95f3a3d92046c055344b.jpeg

here are a couple that I bought at Chrysalidocarpus Sp. Mayotte that show that “white triangle look”.  This first pic shows it’s growing so fast that’s it’s busting off fronds while still green:

IMG_1171.thumb.jpeg.805c6372b3efaf0af00cca1df9fe5543.jpeg

here’s another:

IMG_1170.thumb.jpeg.37a22679043bbf4c06eb65c153a29cd2.jpeg

and here’s my favorite of all the tristichous hybrids, Chrysalidocarpus Robustus Hybrid (most like crossed with Lanceolatus):

Definitely very cool looking hybrids! The one busting off green fronds must be crazy fast and the Robustus would be my fave too.  That thing looks ridiculously good, thanks for sharing

Yeah, those sp. mayotte hybrids are ridiculously fast. Here’s one in my Hilo garden that I bought as a 4” plant about 6 years ago.  It’s probably 25’ tall now. This one has the most upright form of the several of these that I have. Sorry the photos are not the best.
