Josh, everything is looking unreal. Awesome! Not to hijack the thread but I'm thinking of redoing my (much smaller) hardscape. How did you come to decide on concrete vs. pavers?

I just planted this very nice mature and seeding dypsis onilahensis on Tuesday morning.

This is a must grow dypsis for our so. Cal gardens. I have had this palm for many many years in a 15 gal and now I finally found a spot I thought worthy for this beauty.

It's the weeping form of this species. My goal is top plant the upright form close by for comparison.

I'm super excited about this planting. I have been growing for YEARS brahea Sp. super silver to see if I can get a superior specimen to arise for my garden. From my own experiences Some just don't get true blue and lots of the seed that sprouts may not get the blue silver look from the mamma plant. I discovered if you completely neglect, forget to water and let them bake in the sun they do so dang good and seem to go bluer faster???

below is my long awaited planting of my 2nd favorite (#1 is Moorei) brahea in the garden :)

please enjoy these pictures

so you can say I was a busy guy yesterday.......

I dug to freaking HUGE specimen ravenea xerophila yesterday morning.

I'm hoping and praying they will survive the dig.

I took all precautionary measures while digging.

1) large root ball

2) hydrated plants

3) sharp cutting sheers for root pruning

4) sharp sure shot digging shovels

5) blow touch for root cauterizing

6) tightly wrapped root balls with necessary supplies

7) the skill and know how to transport the precious cargo

etc...................

they are now tucked away in their permanent spots?? I HOPE..

sorry about the sideways pictures buy my computer will not let me rotate them :(
