The Red is Back

Featured Replies

Boy, for awhile this one seemed to have lost a good bit of it's color after holding the leaf sheath for a longer than normal period.

I was wondering if the fading color was the result of maturity.

Finally, after shedding the old leaf, the beautiful color was still there, maybe it will finally have a good crop of viable seed.

The others, in the background, only have a deep pinkish color and one produces viable seed like a vending machine.

Very nice tim! Are you saying they have better colour when the sheath falls off quicker?

I can expect the green crownshaft of doom if this is the case....

Fabulous Tim, it looks like it loves the home you gave it. :wub2:

Harry, now that this palm has gotten a bit older, it's slowed down growth wise and holds the leaf longer. Over time the color lost it's intensity, and I was glad to see that was only temporary.

Yeah Moose, it's always been happy.

Paul, a new camera with settings coming outa my okole.
